American Gods by Neil Gaiman Not a rare case Written so many reviews, both positive and negative, so it makes no sense to write something else about this book and the author. I write more for myself, so as not to accidentally step on the same rake "absolutely not my authors, absolutely not my literature." When reading the book, I was never left with two thoughts: "what trivial graphomania" and "a great idea - a disappointing performance." Maybe it's because I love mythology (especially Scandinavian) and just "did not recognize" that same Odin and company? Or from the fact that I do not consider unnecessary (and even unnecessary here) "sexual" details to improve literature? Many friends and acquaintances are delighted, but in my case, to put it mildly, "not mine"! P.S. The screen version, in fact, is the same...
